Mission
The mission of The Foundation of Survivors of Abuse is to provide hope, encouragement and empowerment to survivors everywhere by leveraging advocacy and education to eliminate the statute of limitations for crimes of childhood sexual abuse. The effects/scars are lasting and profound. All survivors need the opportunity to heal in their own time, at their own pace and on their own terms.
Statute of Limitations
An essential part of the healing process for survivors is the ability to seek justice and prevent the potential for abuse against others by prosecuting the predators who commit these vicious crimes. Currently, the statutes of limitations for crimes of sexual abuse vary widely from state to state, and fail to protect millions of innocent people dealing with the devastating effects of these crimes.

Sea of Faces | See Their Faces is a project born from conversations over the years with legislators about time limitations for sexual violence. It’s difficult for some to understand why changes are necessary. This project will use photographs from across the United States to illustrate the number of people affected and to put a spotlight on the strength, resilience and grace of child sexual abuse survivors.
Our Founders
With their father behind bars for molesting them as children, sisters Desirae and Deondra Brown of the classical quintet, The 5 Browns, were driven to do more – others like them must have access to justice and the opportunity to heal.
